Daar is niks te koop op dié vier dae lange fees nie en al die feesgangers moet oorleef op dit wat hulle saamgebring het. Aan die einde van die fees word al die kunswerke aan die brand gesteek. Vryheid van uitdrukking word op die AfrikaBurnfees gevier en vanjaar se tema was “Mirage”. Die fees was van 25 tot 30 April. Feesgangers kan motors opmaak om ander feesgangers op te laai en dit word 'mutant' motors genoem. Daar kan ook fiets gery word en mense maak gewoonlik dit ook op in interesante maniere. Die feesterrein is in die form van 'n hoefyster met afgebakende kampe. Binne in die hoefyster is die binnekring en daar word 'n verskeidenheid kunswerke uitgestal. Mense hou hulself besig met speletjies en dans tente. Ongeveer 5 duisend mense het die jaar die fees bygewoon. Foto: Liza van Deventer Foto24
