Streetopia Jozi is Coming!

Streetopia, in Jozi?

It’s true! Thanks to the efforts of artists, community members and volunteers in the Gauteng region that have stepped up to assist our team in organising an event in their area, Streetopia Jozi will be hosted in Melville on Saturday October 12th.

As with Streetopia Obs, the event is planned as a collaboration between the community it takes place in, and members of the AfrikaBurn community. This recipe for creative success will see a stretch of Melville on 7th Street (from 1st to 4th Avenues) and 27 Boxes filled with performances, exhibitions, street art and… whatever you’d like to add to the mix.

Interested in getting involved?

If you’re interested in volunteering, there are a couple of ways to do that:

– right now, the Streetopia Jozi team are looking for a communications volunteer to assist with social media and online content generation. If you’re skilled in these areas and would like to get involved, mail [email protected] and our team will get back to you
– there are two Volunteer days planned, for the 17th August and 28th September to assist with prepping signage, painting and decor ahead of the big day. To find out more, click on over to the Streetopia Jozi Volunteer Day event page on Facebook.
