AfrikaBurn to Burning Man By Bike – Latest Update

AfrikaBurn to Burning Man

He’s the man with the plan and a cyclist’s tan who’s been cycling since last year and will eventually have ridden all the way from Buenos Aires in Argentina to no less than Black Rock City when he completes his epic mission come the end of August this year. Along the way Kayden Kleinhans has raised awareness about climate change and carbon neutral energy – and he’s just sent in his latest update.

Here it is:

“Just arrived in Quito, the Ecuadorian capital and about to cross the
equator which marks the halfway point of the expedition after 24 weeks and
9630 carbon free km’s.

Still on schedule and looking good to arrive on time which is great news,
battling the Andes now for a second time which is rather gruelling but
rewarding. Should be crossing into Colombia in roughly a week my final
country in South America before the crossing into Panama.

Any contacts or hosts en route are most welcome as a hot shower and cold
beer goes down well in these conditions.”

Many of you would remember writing wishes, poems and dedications in a leather-bound journal at AfrikaBurn 2012, and it’s this journal that Kayden is carrying with him on his marathon trek. If anyone would like to join him on his last stretch from Reno, Nevada, into Burning Man this year contact [email protected]
